Basu combines strategic leadership with a deep commitment to creating exceptional early learning experiences for children and families. After leading global product and innovation teams at Visa Inc. for more than 13 years, he now devotes his expertise to building a preschool where quality, safety, and thoughtful care come first.

Drawing on decades of experience in technology, operations, and customer experience, Basu focuses on creating efficient systems that allow teachers to spend more time doing what matters most—helping children learn, grow, and thrive. He believes that strong schools are built through exceptional educators, trusted family partnerships, and a culture of continuous improvement.

At Bright & Rooted, his mission is simple: ensure every child learns in a nurturing, engaging, and well-supported environment while giving families confidence that their children receive outstanding care every day.

For more than 14 years, Rezy has dedicated her career to helping young children feel safe, loved, and confident. As the founder of Bright Star Home Daycare in Fremont, she earned the trust of families by creating warm, engaging environments where every child could thrive.

An ECE Certified educator with 32+ Early Childhood Education units and a Dean’s List student, Rezy combines academic excellence with years of hands-on experience. At Bright & Rooted, she leads the educational program, mentors teachers, and ensures every classroom provides a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning experience.

Her philosophy is simple: every child deserves to feel valued, inspired, and supported while building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Meet Our Director

Ms. Autumn is the Director of Bright & Rooted Preschool & Childcare, where she leads with warmth, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to every child’s growth. With a strong background in early childhood education, she brings both expertise and heart to everything she does, from designing enriching daily experiences to guiding her team with clear, thoughtful leadership. Ms. Autumn believes that childhood is a time of wonder, and she works tirelessly to ensure every child at Bright & Rooted feels safe, seen, and celebrated for who they are.

Families are at the center of everything Ms. Autumn does. She takes the time to truly get to know each child’s personality, strengths, and needs, and partners closely with parents every step of the way, because she knows that the strongest foundations are built through open communication and trust. Whether it is welcoming a new family on their first day, supporting a child through an important milestone, or simply greeting everyone with a smile at drop off, Ms. Autumn brings genuine care to every interaction.

Ms. Autumn works closely with our teachers, support staff, and care team to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and nurturing education, creating a warm and welcoming community where children and families feel like they truly belong. Her hands on leadership style means she is present, engaged, and deeply invested in the day to day life of the classroom, not just behind the scenes. Brand new management! Basu the owner and his wife are so down to earth, highly experienced people in this industry, both directors Ms Autumn & Ms Alex, are thr best humans ever! Professional, easy to talk to, reliable, and gentle to both parents and kids, i actually give them so much credit , especially in early diagnosis for my child ( being on the spectrum) , especially Ms Alex since she worked in autism field for 20 years, early intervention helped my daughter significantly, plus they honor a 3rd party ABA behavioral specialists to access premises to help children on the spectrum one to one, all teachers are wonderful, highly trained , no discrimination, everyone is welcomed , highly recommend this place for your kids needs! Especially now with the new management / ownership!

Five stars all around! Her teachers Mrs. Amber and Mrs. Elisa are amazing, and my baby loves them. They keep the facility nice and clean, the admin team is friendly and welcoming aswell. Both our kids (6 year old daughter and 4 year old son) spent their early years at Rezy's daycare, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found her.

What sets Rezy apart is that she doesn't just teach a group — she sees each child. She notices what makes your child light up, what makes them nervous, what they need on a hard day, and she adjusts her approach accordingly. Our kids were happy with her, and happy children tend to learn the most. Both of them did well in her care, academically and, more importantly, as people.

Rezy taught our children compassion, sharing, patience, and kindness — not as rules, but as habits. Those lessons didn't fade when they left her class; they became part of who our kids are.

Beyond her warmth, Rezy runs her daycare with real professionalism. She's diligent about the details — naps, meals, milestones — and transparent about all of it. Daily photos, notes on how much they ate and slept, how the morning went. Nothing was ever vague or left for us to guess. That kind of consistency and openness is rare, and it made us trust her completely. We knew our kids were safe, well cared for, and genuinely enjoying themselves.

Our daughter is 6 now and has had several teachers since. She still says Rezy is the best teacher she's ever had. That says it all.

My 2 year old loves it here! It was highly recommended by a family member. I really like that nothing has really changed under the new ownership. My daughter was not talking and within 2 months she was already speaking and has learned so much since then. The first 3 days were rough specially since she’s the only child - I almost wanted to turn back around and pick her up, but once we made it through day 4 she literally walked herself in and said “good bye”. She’s so confident now, she learned to share, and it really surprises how much she knows now. The teachers are absolutely amazing, they create a bond with them and they’re very patient. My little one wakes up excited when we tell her it’s time for school. They also provide meals and help potty train them. It’s been such a good support system and I have a peace of mind at work knowing she’s in a safe, clean, educational, and fun place. Definitely worth it. The teachers also send you updates all day on meals times, diaper changes, nap times, and they share cute photos of activities. I like to show off her arts and crafts projects at home and at work.

We accept CAPP, StanWORKs, and CalWORKs — and we’ll help you navigate every step. Many Modesto families qualify and don’t know it. Ask us.

Income-based subsidy for working families. We are an approved SCOE provider and will guide you through your application.

Employment and income-based assistance from birth through 12, administered by Stanislaus County.

For families enrolled in CalWORKs. We coordinate directly with your case worker to ensure seamless coverage.
